Installing Stremio on Firestick Got Easier

For years, installing Stremio on a Firestick meant sideloading an APK through the Downloader app. That changed in December 2025, when Stremio landed in the Fire OS Appstore. No sideloading needed on most devices. This guide covers both install routes, plus a zero-setup alternative if addons aren't your thing.

Option 1: Install from the Fire OS Appstore

1. From the Firestick home screen, open the Appstore.
2. Search for Stremio.
3. Select Get to download and install it.

The Appstore version updates with your other apps. This is the simplest and safest route on current Fire TV devices.

Option 2: Sideload the APK on Older Devices

If the Appstore version isn't on your device (older Fire OS versions sometimes lag behind), you can sideload the official APK.
